Roopa is also passionate about writing, as she has been involved with her school’s literary magazine for the past 3 years and loves both journalistic and creative writing. As an avid violin player for the past ten years, Roopa cannot wait to begin learning how to play the viola during senior year, and then the cello and piano later on in life! Some of her other interests include: roller coasters, photography, design, parliamentary procedure, psychology, and classical music. If you ever have any questions (FBLA or non-FBLA) feel free to contact her at: president@lhsfbla.com.

Having been an active member for the past 3 years, Janet is thrilled to be able to help members along as they discover the beauty and magic of FBLA, the organization in which leaders blossom and find their interests and passions. Outside of FBLA, Janet volunteers at Stanford Hospital, where she also serves on the Stanford Auxiliary’s Junior Advisory Board. Janet likes to play card games, board games, and puzzle games (play with me!). She also enjoys reading, searching up deep and random quotes, and watching chick flicks! Contact Janet at vpcomps.written@lhsfbla.com.

Kathy Dong, VP of Conferences | Kathy Dong looks forward to having a great year with Lynbrook FBLA! She has been active in FBLA since her freshman year at Lynbrook, and enjoys the multifarious opportunities that FBLA has to offer (though her favorite event would have to be networking and competing at the various conferences!). Kathy is also a photographer in the school yearbook, the Valhalla. She enjoys photography in her spare time, as well as chatting too much on gmail. Kathy loves traveling and discovering the different cultures in foreign countries; so far, she has been on exchange programs to Japan, as well as France. Feel free to email Kathy at vpconferences@lhsfbla.com if you have any questions!

Amitis Pedramrazi, VP of Special Events| Amitis Pedramrazi joined FBLA the instant she entered Lynbrook  and it was the best decision of her high school career. FBLA is important to her because it have been a continuous learning experience and has taught her to overcome various obstacles in her life. She holds a deep passion for FBLA and believes strongly that it is an organization that can change lives. In her free time Amitis enjoys to spend time with her friends/family and her pet rabbit, Benjamin. She has a strong passion for animals and hopes to rescue some in the future. Amitis also loves to travel and looks forward to visiting places like Paris, Barcelona, Aruba and Figi in the future. Eric Wu, Secretary | Eric Wu is extremely excited to serve as the Secretary of the amazing organization known as Lynbrook FBLA! Eric joined FBLA in his freshman year, and was greatly inspired by the leadership opportunities, conferences, competitions, and family that FBLA offers. Now, in his second year, he hopes to instill the same feelings he has for FBLA in new members and make the organization reach its fullest potential. In his spare time, Eric enjoys playing video games, drinking extremely large quantities of soda, singing around the house, and chilling with Treasurer James Hu. He has a strong affinity for music, and is part of the local a cappella group The Ritards. James Hu, Treasurer | James Hu is excited to be FBLA’s Treasurer again. With two years of experience under his belt as former 2012 Class Treasurer and last year’s FBLA Treasurer, he is looking forward to creating bigger, better, and more innovative fundraisers. He is also known to FBLA as Dr. Hu, and he runs an advice column in the FBLA Vike Views. Feel free to send him questions concerning anything. Besides FBLA, James also loves to play the violin, a hobby he has enjoyed for nearly 12 years. He has performed in venues such as San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall, Aspen’s Benedict Music Tent, and Germany’s Berlin Philharmoniker. James is also proud to be a 3-year member of Lynbrook’s varsity golf team, soon to be 4 years in Spring 2012. In his spare time, James likes to snowboard, play tennis and computer games, and review chips at onchips.tumblr.com. Contact me for FBLA questions or contact Dr. Hu, for advice at treasurer@lhsfbla.com.

Sun Shin, Public Relations Officer | Sun Shin is very excited for the upcoming FBLA year! This is her first term as an officer and her fourth year as a loyal FBLA member. She loves attending the conferences and networking with students from other schools. Sun loves anything graphic design and has been doing graphic design for the local Red Cross chapter since 2009. In addition to her love for graphic design, she loves nail art! She is always on the hunt for new and popular nail art designs and it’s rare you’ll see her without her nails painted. Some of her hobbies include going on the hunt for new restaurants, trying out new food, and wasting hours on Tumblr. If you ever have any questions, you can email her at profficer@lhsfbla.com.

Angela Kong, Parliamentarian | Angela Kong is thrilled for her second year in FBLA, her favorite organization from the start of freshman year. Although she loves the business, leadership, and networking opportunities that FBLA presents, her favorite aspect of the organization has to be parliamentary procedure. Being a part of the team was one of the defining moments of her freshman year – she encourages everyone to give parliamentary procedure a try! Angela is also a member of the school dance team, the Valkryies, and in her spare time, she secretly choreographs dance moves to the radio. One of her greatest goals in life is to learn every word in the English language so she can read books without ever having to open a dictionary again. Feel free to email Angela at parliamentarian@lhsfbla.com about anything!

Nina Kamath, Chapter Project Chair | Nina Kamath is super exciting for another fublahmazing year leading the much anticipating Chapter Project! The reason FBLA will always be an organization so close to her heart is because of the ridiculously fun conferences, professional networking opportunities, and most importantly, the chapter projects! She believes that every single member can find their own niche in the organization by getting as involved as possible in the plethora of competitive opportunities, conferences, leadership, and community service events. Nina is also fascinated with political activism, serving as a youth representative on her local city council for the past 4 years and her grassroots organizing work with state and national political campaigns. Other things that keep her interested are entrepreneurship, graphic design, parliamentary procedure, Facebook-stalking, and smiling. Please feel free to ask her any questions at projectchair@lhsfbla.com. And don’t forget: join the chapter project!

Having played piano for the past ten years and violin for the past nine, Isabel is a part of the El Camino Youth Symphony, and went with the symphony on tour to Spain and France this past summer. Other hobbies of hers include jamming to the radio, learning to use Photoshop, watching Disney movies, and of course, being environmentally friendly! If you have any questions about anything at all, you can email her at gogreenchair@lhsfbla.com.

Ilakya Palanisamy, Technology Manager | As a four year member of FBLA and a three time officer, Ilakya cannot wait to have an amazing fourth and last year with LHSFBLA. If she listed all her favorite hobbies and activities, the website she worked so hard on would crash! A few that do stand out are drawing, learning about different cultures (especially her own), and gardening! She is a very quirky and approachable person, so if you or your child have any questions about opportunities in FBLA, she is the person to ask! On another note, Ilakya would love for you to use this website to its fullest potential. Most questions you may have will be answered on this website. She will do her best to keep it updated but if she ever fails and if you ever have any questions about anything, feel free to shoot her an email at techmanager@lhsfbla.com.
